Bangalore 29th October – Dogsee Chew hosted a first ever ‘Kukur Tihar (Dog Puja)’ in Bangalore in partnership with TherPup – Bangalore’s first Dog Cafe.
Tihar is a five-day-long festival which is usually celebrated in Nepal and the Indian states of Assam, Sikkim & Darjeeling. This festival is considered to be of great importance as it shows reverence to not just the humans and the Gods, but also to the animals like cows, crows, and dogs who maintain an intense relationship with humans.
The second day, ”Kukur Tihar”, is dedicated to worshiping and appreciating our four-legged friends, Dogs. They are decorated and given a feast fit for royalty – even to the street dogs! People offer garlands, vermilion tika, and delicious food to dogs and acknowledge the cherished relationship between humans and dogs.
Dogsee Chew held the puja on 29th October at TherPUP. All the pet parents and pet lovers from Bangalore were invited at the venue.
All the dogs were welcomed with garland and vermilion tikas.
And a 3-course meal was served to all the lovely pooches.
Dogsee Chew’s CEO Bhupendra Khanal said, “We are thrilled to bring this tradition of Kukur Tihar to Bangalore. I am very happy that many dog lovers came together and assembled here for the celebration of Kukur Tihar”.
TherPUP’s CEO, Ankur Jain added, “I was really amazed at the idea of celebration of Kukur Tihar at TherPUP. I am very happy that we were able to host this beautiful event at our cafe”.
